Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Doha agreement will complete Darfur peace strategy

Khartoum, April 12 (SUNA) – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rahmatallah Mohamed Osman met at his office Tuesday U.S. Senior Advisor on Darfur, Ambassador Dane Smith , Dan Smith . The meeting reviewed Smith's visit to Doha and his meeting with the head of Sudan delegation to Doha talks Dr. Amin Hassan Omer, leadership of the Liberalization and Justice Movement and representatives of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM)

The undersecretary of Foreign Ministry explained that Doha would be the ultimate venue for the talks with Darfur movements, adding that the deal reached by the mediators will be opened for signing and not for renegotiation

The government, African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN) consider the New Darfur Peace Strategy as the foundation, Osman stated

He said that the strategy basesd on provision of security, peace and development to the people of Darfur and returning them to their home villages, stressing that the Doha deal will be a complementary and support to the strategy
