An armed group of men has beaten and looted a group of civilians in the village of Donkey Ushur, in Malha locality, North Darfur.
A source said a group were traveling in a vehicle to Donkey Ushur at nine in the morning when they were attacked by 15 gunmen.
The armed men stole many of the passengers' possessions and beat them, causing one person serious injury who was taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident was referred to the local police.
Joint force arrests armed gang
In the locality of Um Kadada, North Darfur on Sunday night a joint force made of army and police arrested an armed gang of five, that have been reported as intimidating citizens and looting their property in the Durra area near Um Kadada.
A witness told Radio Dabanga that an armed gang attacked two commericial trucks traveling from El Fasher to El Obeid, carrying a number of passengers including university students.
The gang intercepted the vehicles in the area of Durra, west of Um Kadada and east of El Fasher. They stole all the passengers belongings and ran away.
The passengers reported the incident to the police in Um Kadada who formed a joint force of soldiers and police, and managed to catch the armed men.
The source said there was an exchange of gunfire for several hours but the joint force managed to arrest the gang members and retrieve the stolen items.
