Joint Military & Security Committee to meet on Sudan-Chad stability

A joint military and security committee set up to enhance the implementation of the security agreement between Sudan and Chad will meet in the Chadian capital, N'jamena on Thursday January 7. The Sudanese Ambassador to Chad, Abdalla Al-Shiekh, said the committee would start mapping out strategies for the implementation of the deal reached between the two countries in August last year.

The security protocol makes provision for the establishment of "observation points" on the Sudan-Chad border and the termination of rebel activities within the two countries.
