A delegation of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs chaired by the State Minister, Dr. Mutref Siddig and the Commissioner General for Aid, Dr. Suleiman Abdul Rahman Suleiman has concluded a visit to Al-Fasher, North Darfur, Monday where they get-informed on the implementation of the humanitarian side of the Darfur peace strategy and the situation of the services through the strategy.
Dr. Siddig affirmed the government's commitment to the implementation of the strategy especially with regard to the voluntary repatriation of the Internally Displaced People (IDP) This came in a joint meeting held in Nyala between the government of South Darfur and the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs represented in the High Committee for the Voluntary Repatriation and a number of humanitarian organizations.
The minister described the security situation id Darfur as stable a matter that reflected positively on the humanitarian situation, renewing the government's keenness to the implementation of Darfur Peace Strategy to realize security, development and reconciliations.
The delegation has earlier met the joint mission of the United Nations and the African Union Darfur(UNAMID) besides the organizations operating in the humanitarian field and reviewed aspects of joint cooperation and coordination between the government and these organizations. IF/IF
