• Nearly two years since the escalation of conflict, Sudan continues to face a humanitarian crisis of catastrophic proportions.
• As of March 2025, 12.8 million people have been forcibly displaced, including over 8.8 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 3.7 million refugees, asylum seekers, and returnees who have crossed into neighboring countries.
• To address the cholera outbreak response, Health and WASH clusters partners have developed a joint work plan valued at USD 27 million to scale up response efforts across Sudan. Additionally, an interagency action plan for cholera response has been endorsed, covering 90 localities nationwide.
• Cholera cases in Kosti, White Nile State, are declining due to comprehensive response that includes surveillance, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) measures, case management, a vaccination campaign, and community engagement.
• Due to funding freeze, about 1.5 million people are directly impacted while 5 million people will be indirectly impacted as support for 335 health facilities is gradually phased out.
• Sexual and Reproductive Health service delivery across 15 states is at risk, potentially affecting 1.2 million women of reproductive age, 120,000 pregnant women, and 24,000 survivors of sexual violence.
• In March 2025, the surveillance systems for attacks on health care (SSA) reported 3 attacks impacting 2 health facilities, 2 healthcare personnel, 1 medical supply, and 1 warehouse.
