HIGHLIGHTS

• The Health cluster strategies for 2025 includes efforts in the areas of integrated approach,sub national coordination, enhance reporting, and operational challenges.

• In addition, the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) objectives include ensuring essential primary and secondary healthcare services, trauma care, reproductive health vaccinations, referrals, capacity building, and outbreak response.

• Currently, all 18 states are addressing three or more disease outbreaks, including cholera, with over 50,000 cases reported from July 2024 to January 2025.

• An outbreak/cholera subnational technical working group initiative is to be established to facilitate the administration of outbreaks at the subnational level.

• Between January and February 2025, 40 IMOs will receive indicator training, refresher training on healthcare attacks, awareness-raising sessions on healthcare attacks, and workshops for all cluster coordinators, sub-national cluster coordinators, an integrated public health officers.

• The Eastern Zone Sub-National Health Cluster coordination meeting (which includes Kassala, Gedaref, Sennar, the River Nile, the Red Sea, Khartoum, and the Northern States) began in January, with the inaugural meeting on January 20, 2025.

• In January 2025, the Surveillance Systems for Attacks on Health Care (SSA) reported 11 occurrences, resulting in 72 deaths and 21 injuries. These attacks targeted 8 health facilities, 7 patients, 10 healthcare professionals, 3 supplies, 2 transportation consignments, and 1 warehouse.
