  • Large scale displacement continues to strain an already fragile healthcare system.
  • Continued disruption of essential services such as immunization and laboratory testing has contributed to rising disease outbreaks.
  • A suspected measles outbreak is under verification in West Darfur with 10 of 15 samples tested positive, with 3 co-infected with Rubella. All 5 samples from South Darfur tested positive.
  • Cholera remains a major concern with over 59,500 cases reported across 12 states, with a high CFR of 2.7%.
  • Data on healthcare access, disease surveillance, and critical health indicators:
    • Surveillance through EWARS Mobile in Darfur to improve early detection and response; currently 471 facilities reporting, though with a low 43% completeness rate.
    • INTERSOS continues to submit timely EWARS reports.
    • In Zamzam camp, North Darfur, severe malnutrition and collapse of health services due to insecurity and lack of water.
    • Conflict in Al Fasher caused mass displacement and service collapse.
