NUMU (18 Mar.) - A 'huge fire' in the village of Numu south of Kabkabiya in North Darfur, on Saturday morning, left an elderly man severely wounded and burnt about 77 homes 'to the ground' as well as 52 rakobas (a square-shaped shade made of dry straw and wood used for meetings). In addition, the fire burnt large quantities of food and crops and left a number of cattle heads dead.
One of the affected revealed that more than 300 people have lost their homes and belongings in the fire and are staying in the open without shelter or food. Residents appealed to the authorities and humanitarian organizations to offer their help to them.
