Fighting is continuing in Sudan, between armed rebels and Sudanese government forces in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.
The Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed by the Sudanese government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in 2005 ended a long civil war in Sudan and eventually led to the independence of South Sudan.
But breakaway fighters from the south have continued military action against Sudan
