The Desert Locust (SGR) activities continued in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, but declined in Mauritania and Sudan in March. Control operations treated more than 40,000 ha mainly on the central Red Sea coasts of Saudi Arabia and southeastern Egypt, northwest Mauritania and Sudan. Small-scale control operations were also reported in southern Morocco and Algeria. Some solitary adult locusts were present in northern Niger, Yemen, Oman and western Pakistan, but other outbreak and invasion areas remained calm (CNLA/Mauritania, CNLAA/Morocco,
DDLC/Libya, DLCO-EA, DLMCC/Yemen,
DPPQS/India, FAO-DLIS, INPV/Algeria,
PPD/Ethiopia and PPD/Sudan).
