OVERVIEW
Between 20 October and 28 November 2024, an estimated total of 393,337 individuals (78,963 households) were displaced from locations across Aj Jazirah state due to an escalation in clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Individuals were reportedly displaced to 46 localities across eight different states. Among those displaced, an estimated 16,930 individuals were already displaced prior to the escalation, and therefore experienced secondary displacement.1
Between 20 and 30 October 2024, an estimated 135,405 individuals were displaced from multiple areas across Sharg Aj Jazirah and Um Algura localities, including Tamboul, Rufa’ah, and Junayd Towns, as well as 20 other villages in Sharg Aj Jazirah, Al Kamlin, and Um Algura localities. An additional 208,068 individuals were reportedly displaced from locations across Aj Jazirah between 30 October and 13 November 2024.
Between 13 and 28 November 2024, DTM monitored an additional 49,864 individuals (10,162 households) who were displaced primarily from Al Kamlin locality (59%), in addition to Sharg Aj Jazirah and Um Algura localities in Aj Jazirah. Households were primarily displaced to localities across Gedaref, Kassala and River Nile states.
