Between 26 October and 8 December 2025, an estimated 107,294 individuals (24,221 households) were displaced from Al Fasher town and surrounding villages.

  • Of these individuals, the majority (81%) remain within North Darfur state. Approximately 76,744 individuals (72%) remained within Al Fasher locality, primarily in rural villages to the west and north of Al Fasher town. An estimated eight per cent were reportedly displaced to Tawila locality and approximately one per cent were recorded in other localities within North Darfur state. An estimated 19 per cent were displaced to Khartoum, Northern, South Darfur, Gedaref, Central Darfur, East Darfur, West Darfur, Kassala, and Red Sea, and to Aj Jazirah, Blue Nile, White Nile, and West Kordofan states.
  • According to DTM field teams, approximately three-quarters (75%) of those displaced were reportedly already IDPs who were displaced again following the escalation on 26 October 2025.
  • Many IDPs in Al Fasher town were initially displaced from the major IDP camps in Al Fasher locality, including Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps, or from other locations within Al Fasher town during previous escalations, and then displaced again after 26 October 2025.

These figures are preliminary and subject to change due to ongoing insecurity and rapidly evolving displacement dynamics. Field teams reported high insecurity along routes, which may restrict mobility. The situation remains tense and highly fluid, with ongoing insecurity and population movements. DTM will continue to monitor the developments closely and will provide updates via Early Warning Flash Alerts, from the DTM Sudan Mailing List.
