On 25 August 2024, heavy rain and floods across Tawkar Town of Tawkar locality, Red Sea reportedly displaced 500 households. Field teams reported that Al Baraka creek flooded due to the rain, triggering displacement from the surrounding area. Some displaced households stayed with host communities, while others sought improvised shelter in open areas within the same locality.
