On 14 December 2024, an estimated 40 households were displaced from Um Safato village of Shia'ria locality, East Darfur due to an intercommunal dispute over land between nomads and farmers tribesmen. Displaced households primarily sought shelter in locations within Shia'ria locality. There were also reports of deaths and injuries among civilians. The situation remains tense and unpredictable.
