On 22 December 2024, an estimated 200 households were displaced from Villages 33, 34, 35, and 36 of Um Algura locality, Aj Jazirah. Displacement reportedly occurred due to increased security concerns following ongoing clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) across Um Algura locality. Displaced households reportedly sought shelter across locations within Al Fao locality, Gedaref. The situation remains tense and unpredictable.
