On 1 and 2 December 2024, an estimated 84 households were displaced from Zamzam IDP camp in Al Fasher locality, North Darfur. The displacement reportedly occurred due to shelling and clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the camp and eastern neigbourhoods of Al Fasher town. Field teams reported that households were primarily displaced to other locations within Al Fasher and Dar As Salam localities, North Darfur.
There were also reports of deaths and injuries among civilians. The situation remains tense and unpredictable.
