DTM Sudan Flash Alert: Conflict in Aj Jabalain (Altboon Village), White Nile (Update 001): 05 December 2024

On 2 and 3 December 2024, an estimated 3,219 households were displaced from Aj Jabalain, Ad Diwaim, and Um Rimta localities in White Nile. Field teams reported that approximately 250 households were displaced from Altboon village in Aj Jabalain locality following attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Additionally, approximately 3,069 households were displaced from the villages of Kilo 4, Juda Aladal, Juda Al Fakhar, Alhassaniya, and Aj Jabalain town in Aj Jabalain locality, as well as from villages across Ad Diwaim and Um Rimta localities, due to increased security concerns across the state. Displaced households primarily sought shelter in locations within Aj Jabalain, Rabak, Ad Diwaim, and Kosti localities in White Nile, as well as across the border in South Sudan. There were also reports of deaths and injuries among civilians. The situation remains tense and unpredictable.
