Four days of cattle-raiding in Pachala County of Jonglei state has reportedly displaced more than one thousand people to Pibor. The State Governor, Koul Mayang, told Radio Miraya that there have been repeated incidents of cattle-raids in the area, adding that more displaced people are still arriving in Pibor. He added that humanitarian assistance is being provided to the affected people.
Manyang also said that the state's police could not immediately intervene to rescue the situation due to logistical shortcomings.
