Insecurity Insight identified 603 attacks on Sudan's health care system since fighting started between Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in April 2023 to 30 April 2025. In these incidents, health facilities, including maternity and children's hospitals were damaged at least 154 times,141 health workers were killed and 98 injured.
In 2024, attacks on health care increased in Gezira during the RSF's attacks on numerous villages across the state, resulting in widespread atrocities.
