Attacks on Health Care in Sudan, 25 June - 08 July 2025

Insecurity Insight identified 623 attacks on Sudan's health care system since fighting started between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in April 2023 and 31 May 2025. During these incidents health facilities were reportedly damaged 160 times, 154 health workers were killed and 160 injured. Nearly two-thirds of the incidents were attributed to the RSF.

At least 34 health workers were killed in 19 incidents in El Fasher, North Darfur state. Nearly half of them were killed while working inside health facilities that were bombed or attacked. Three health workers were killed when the RSF used artillery and shelling during attacks on Abu Shouk and Zamzam IDP camps. Other health workers were killed in their homes. In other cases, the circumstances of the killings were not recorded.
