The assassination of one of the IDPs leader in Otash IDP camp south Darfur

On Monday 31 March around 1.00am Ali Idris (39yrs old) was shot dead by unknown armed men in Otash IDP camp East of Nyala city.

Ali Idris is one of the Otash IDP camp leaders (head of sector one) who kept on campaigning against the upcoming elections. Although he was previously threatened by some of the government soldiers because of his campaign but he kept on urging the IDPs to boycott the upcoming elections. His family and the IDPs believe that he was killed because of his activities against the upcoming elections.

SUDO UK calls on the government to investigate killing of Ali Idris and bring those groups or individuals responsible to justice, and allow the freedom of choice and speech.
