Air strikes kill 3 from same family in Darfur

El Fasher (26 Dec .) - Three people were killed and five were injured from the same family, during air strikes in the village of Khamsat, Al Lait Jar Al Nabi locality, North Darfur, a witness told Radio Dabanga.

The bombing took place when the family was having dinner, killing the father Hasabon Al Zain Hamid along with one of his sons and one daughter. The injured were transferred to Al Lait Jar Al Nabi hospital.

Witnesses said bombing by government forces took place in areas west, north, south and east of Al Lait Jar Al Nabi since Saturday morning through to Monday evening.

The villages of Khamsat, Um Khulhaya, Delil Duhri, Balil Babiker, Al Kadhimiya, Jad al Sid, Um Gerabida and Eyal Amin were all under intensive air strikes.

A witness who managed to flee said Um Gerabida, Al Kadhimiya and Khamsat were all burning.

But according to sources in Al Lait Jar Al Nabi the number of casualties and extent of the damage remains unknown, as people have been stopped from returning to the villages,

The government said that the Justice and Equality Movement were entering this area, and they had chased them and asked them to surrender.
