A woman was killed and her son (8) seriously injured when the Sudanese Air Force bombarded the area west of Jebel Marra on Tuesday morning.
“An Antonov fighter jet dropped three bombs on the area of Ruh Fatah, west of Jebel Marra, about 7am on Tuesday. Um Elkheir Adam Yagoub was killed instantly, and her son of eight sustained serious injuries,” a resident of the area told Radio Dabanga.
“Vast tracts of farmland and pasture burned to ashes, and a large number of livestock died.”
He called upon the UN Security Council and humanitarian and human rights organisations to intervene and stop the government air raids on civilians.
