KEY HIGHLIGHTS

• The Sri Lankan economy grew by 5.0% in 2024, rebounding from a 2.3% contraction in 2023. However, the agriculture sector experienced a decline of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous year and a 1 percentage point drop from Q3 2024.

• Vegetable and fruit prices declined due to increased supply.

• Similarly, prices of most local rice varieties decreased, except Keeri Samba.

• Fish and egg prices also showed a downward trend, while most meat varieties recorded price reductions—except for pork, which remained stable.

• Coconut prices have risen significantly since December but showed a slight decrease compared to the previous month.
