Sri Lanka: Two red cross society members allegedly abducted opposite fort railway station found dead

COLOMBO: ON FRIDAY (01) AROUND 6.30 P.M., two of the six Red Cross Society members who were at the fort railway station were taken away by unidentified persons who arrived in a white van No 251- 6437.

Two of the four who were left behind had made a complaint to the fort Police regarding the abduction.

The bodies of the two who were abducted were found on at 8.40 a.m. on Saturday (02) by the KIRIELLA police at KETEPOLA town located eight kilometers from KIRIELLA Town.

A Special CID team appointed by the IGP and a Special team of the Fort Police have commenced investigations.

The investigators are in the process of questioning those who were present at the Fort Railway station at the time of the abduction. Police investigations are also in progress regarding the vehicle used for the abduction.

The two persons reported dead are residents of BATTICALOA.
