NORTH: DE-MINING troops operating in the general areas of PERIYANTHAMPANEI, SINNAPANDIVIRICHCHAN and CHIRADDIKULAM on Thursday (24) recovered eighty-six anti personnel mines.
Meanwhile, troops continuing their search and clear operations in the general areas of AKKARAYANKULAM, ADANKULAM, PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU and POONAGAR also recovered three 60 mm mortar booby traps, fourteen anti personnel mines, five hand grenades, a part of Multi Purpose Machine Gun barrel, two thousand rounds of FMC ammunition and forty-four rounds of T-56 ammunition.
