Tamils Rehabilitation Organization has begun rebuilding the infrastructures in the tsunami affected areas.
With financial contribution from TRO Germany, foundation stone laying ceremony took place in Vadamaradchchy east today (01/06/05) at 12.00 noon for erecting a building for the purpose of beginning primary education. Ceremony took place at the Government Tamil Mixed School at Maruthankerny in Vaththirayan.
The principal Mr M Navaneethamany presided over the ceremony and events started with observing a minutes silence in memory of those who shed their lives during the war. The name board of the primary section was declared open by Mr S Thangan. Foundation stones wee laid by Mr K P Reji, the Executive Director of TRO, Mr Sanmugaratnam, the director of TRO Germany, and Mr Nilavan, the leader of political wing, Vadamaradchy.
Students of the school, the teachers, TRO volunteers and people in great number took part in the ceremony with great enthusiasm.
