Sri Lanka: Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) delivers another batch of fishing gears in Vadamaradchchi East

Tamils Rehabilitation Organization is incessantly helping the tsunami affected people living in transit centers across north & east of Srilanka with the aim of putting them back to work.
Those who live in this particular transit center were all fisher folk. TRO delivered today (01/06/05) a second batch of fishing boats and gears under its Rapid Recovery Scheme to the tsunami victims living in this transit center.

All todays donations comprising boats, engines and other fishing equipments including nets were out of financial contribution from TRO, Germany. Mr Sivagnam, the coordinator of Vadamaradchchi East Development Organization presided over todays event.

Following lighting up the traditional oil lamp, hoisting of national and TRO flags and the presidents address, Mr K P Reji the Executive Director of TRO and Mr S Thangan the Deputy Leader of political wing delivered their special addresses. Then the official handing over ceremony followed.

In todays event Mr Sanmugaratnam, the Director of TRO Germany, Mr Yalamuthan of the executive committee, Mr Nilavan, the leader of political wing of Vadamaradchi East, Mr Vincent the Director of TROs post tsunami rapid recovery scheme, the members of fishing societies and federations, and TROs volunteers took part.
