Sri Lanka: Seva Vanitha Unit donates Rs.4 Million for Seruwila Hospital

Hony President of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Foreign Ministry Mrs. Deepthi Bogogllagama handed over a cheque worth Rs 4 million to Minister of Healthcare and Nutrition Nimal Siripala de Silva for the construction of a 20 bed ward at the Seruwila Hospital in Trincomalee for use of women and children at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday 16th December.

The hospital ward is being constructed at a total cost of over Rs 11 million donated by the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Foreign Ministry and this is the second installment of the donation.

The first installment of Rs 2 million was handed over to the Health Ministry in September 2008 and the third and final installment is to be handed over on completion of the building. The construction of the ward is being carried out by CECB under the supervision of the Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition.

The donation was made in the presence of Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama, members of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Foreign Ministry and Ministry officials.
