Seven more Centres will come up for the rehabilitation of LTTE child soldiers who surrendered to the Security Forces. 11,000 such child soldiers are under the protection of the troops. They are being provided with education in addition to imparting vocational training.

Fourteen Rehabilitation Centres are in operation. It will increase to 21 with the establishment of the seven new Centres.

Justice Minister Milinda Moragoda visited the premises where the new Rehabilitation Centres will come up. He visited the Rehabilitation Centre at Thampamaduwa in Vavuniya and exchanged views with the child soldiers. They said the Government was meeting all their requirements.
