DENGUE CASE REPORTING
During the week 24, 2477 suspected dengue cases were reported in 26 districts in comparison to 2730 cases in 26 districts during the week 23. There is a 9.3% decrease in week 24, compared to the previous week. Of all reported cases 49.6% were from Western Province [Colombo Municipal Council -4.1%, Rest of the Colombo District – 17.8%, Gampaha District -20.9% and Kalutara District –6.7%]. Kandy [9.6%], Rathnapura [5.6%], Kegalle [5.9%], Batticaloa [3.8%], Kurunegala [3.6%] and Galle [3.2%] districts also have reported higher number of cases (Table 1).
