Japan has providedmore assistance to improve the health sector in the North. It has provided 2 billion rupees to improve the central function of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
The project will be completed before end of 2010. The Japan International Cooperation Agency will fund the project, which is expected to cost 2,000 million rupees.
The Minister of Healthcare and Nutrition Nimal Siripala de Silva was due to launch the Northern state hospital development program at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital yesterday.
The development of the hospital will immensely benefit patients in the North.
