People experienced the wonderful benefit of Peace after almost 20 years of war. The guns were silenced and no fear of bombs was experienced and people started realising the value of Peace. The opening of the North road transport enabled free movement and people could communicate and understand each other between the North and the South.

At this happy moment we joyfully join all peoples who are preparing to celebrate the first birthday of the Ceasefire Agreement in Sri Lanka.

We also take this opportunity to thank all our international YMCA family members, especially to you for all your prayers and continued support in our journey towards an internal peace.

Yours sincerely,
