In response to the Major Earthquake off the Coast of Sumatra and Great Tsunami in the Indian Ocean, the Government of Japan extended Bilateral Grant Aids totaling 24.6 billion yen to the Governments of Indonesia (14.6 billion yen), Sri Lanka (8 billion yen), and Maldives (2 billion yen).
