Additionally, several schools were closed in Germany, and a nuclear reactor in Switzerland was shut down due to elevated river-water temperatures.

Over the next 72 hours, high temperatures are expected to continue, particularly across western, southern, and eastern Europe. Red warnings for high temperatures are issued for Serbia, Slovakia, Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
