Youths to sensitize people about peace agreement

A coalition of 25 youth organizations has embarked on a program to disseminate the provisions of the peace agreement to the grassroots.

The youth organizations under the umbrella organization, “The New Page for Peace and Development Organization” is rolling out the program through civic educators.

Mr. Tongo James Elisama, the Executive Director New Page for Peace and Development organization, says the exercise will run throughout the transition period.

“Practically soon we will be training civic educators and these civic educators we will be sending them down to the payam levels and once they go to the payam levels immediately they will be conducting awareness sessions.”

Tongo says the awareness sessions, would pave way for dialogue between the respective ordinary citizens of this country and this information will then be trickled to the government and as well as to JMEC.”

He hopes that information generated from the dialogue, will provide a platform for advocacy for their peaceful rights.
