HIGHLIGHTS
· WFP’s new Director of Finance visits Mingkaman on 15 April. In a mission that also included WFP staff from the Juba office, the Director of Finance met with beneficiaries and cooperating partners, visited the WFP warehouse and the local market, meeting with traders selected for the e-voucher program for IDPs (set to begin at the end of this month).
· Fact-finding mission travels to Malakal on 14 April regarding WFP drivers missing since 01 April. WFP’s Country Director, along with the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator, Chief Security Advisor and WFP’s Head of Security in Juba met with authorities in Malakal in an effort to gain information on the whereabouts of three drivers that went missing in Akoka on 01 April. WFP continues to work towards their safe return.
· Over 1.2 million people across the country reached in March by WFP and its cooperating partners under its Emergency Operation and Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation.
