  • Two WFP staff and a WFP-contracted driver remain unaccounted for since 01 April. Fighting erupted while the three men were in Akoka, transporting WFP food commodities from Malakal to Melut (Upper Nile). Thus far, their whereabouts remain unknown. WFP is calling for their safe return.

Food and Nutrition Assistance

  • Over the past week, WFP and its Cooperating Partners completed distributions in Nimni (Unity), Baliet, Jikmir, Nyakang and Rom (Upper Nile) for more than 59,000 beneficiaries.

  • WFP/CP teams are currently deployed in Bauw and Koch (Unity); Haat, Nyambor, Old Fangak and Pultruk, (Jonglei); and Kiechkuon and Makak (Upper Nile).

  • The suspension of the milling voucher programme in Yida and Maban refugee camps continues due to funding constraints. In order to restart the programme and continue it for the rest of 2015, WFP needs about US$5 million.
