Situation and Needs of Children in South Sudan
UNICEF works in South Sudan with over 112 partners (including both CSO and Govt) to provide nutrition, health, WASH, education and child protection services, with priority to life saving interventions for the population most affected by the humanitarian crisis.
UNICEF has specific response and scale-up plans for Greater Equatoria, Unity, Upper Nile, Western and Northern Bahr al Ghazal regions, and continues to work at the national level on early recovery and resilience development interventions where possible.
To increase outreach in conflict affected areas, UNICEF continue to deploy integrated Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) missions in collaboration with WFP, focusing on reaching otherwise inaccessible populations.
