Highlights
- As of 30 April, 56,248 cholera cases and 1,093 deaths have been reported across 46 counties in 9 states and 2 Administrative Areas. Of the reported 801 deaths, 39% have been children aged 0-14 with CFR in this age group being 1.4%. This is a children’s cholera epidemic.
- Approximately 130,000 people have been displaced due to the on-going fighting in Upper Nile alone. Among these displaced individuals, thousands have reportedly crossed international borders, seeking refuge in neighboring Ethiopia.
- As of 30 April 2025, the Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) appeal is only 20 per cent funded with just a fraction of the $278.2 million financial requirement met. This critical shortfall severely limits the ability to scale life-saving services especially for the most vulnerable children.
