Highlights
- As of 31 January, 26,341 cholera cases and 451 associated deaths have been reported in 32 counties, across 7 states and 1 administrative area.
- As of January 31, over 1,036,702 individuals, including 516,422 children, have entered South Sudan fleeing the conflict in Sudan with 74 per cent entering via border points in Renk county (Upper Nile State).
- As we enter in 2025, the acute malnutrition situation continues to be critical in South Sudan where 2.1 million children under five are at risk of acute malnutrition this year, a 26 per cent increase from 2024. In addition, 1.1 million pregnant and breastfeeding women are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition.
- As of January 2025, the Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) is funded at 17 per cent out of the $278.2 million financial requirements.
