Major protection incidents faced by women and girls

The cases of abuse, sexual and gender-based violence whilst fleeing from Sudan reported by the women and girls is alarming. In Rotriak, Unity State alone more than 4 cases weekly were reported by new arrivals who have faced this horrifying journey and trauma.

Nutrition services Scale up in the points of entry and transit sites

Nutrition scale up continues with high number of severely acutely malnourished children crossing the border largely from refugee camp in Sudan. UNICEF and partners continue to scale up screening, provision of BP5 and treatment of wasting of children of children under 5 years in affected hotpots to reduce mortality and morbidity due to malnutrition. An additional 5,000 cartons of plumpnut have been deployed in Renk and Malakal.
