SITUATION OVERVIEW - as of 30 April 2025

As of end April 2025, a total of 54,616 suspected cholera cases, including 1,059 deaths, had been reported across 47 counties in 9 states and 2 Administrative Areas of Ruweng and Greater Pibor in South Sudan. The overall case fatality rate (CFR) was at approximately 1.9%, while the CFR in health facilities is about 1.0%. Rubkona County in Unity State reported the highest number of cases, accounting for 26% (11,998 cases), followed by Juba County in Central Equatoria State with 10.1% (4,606 cases). Unity State bears the highest cholera burden with 40% of the total cases (18,185 cases across its 7 counties), followed by Jonglei State with 17% (7,640 cases across its 9 counties).
