SITUATION OVERVIEW - as of 22 December 2024

  • As of 22 December 2024, 9,102 suspected cholera cases and 146 deaths were reported in 28 counties across 7 states. The highest caseloads were reported in Rubkona county (4,972 suspected cases – average of 300 cases reported daily) and Juba county (1,547 suspected cases).
  • Children are the most affected. The age group with highest case count is 0-4 years (32.5%), followed by the 5-14 years age group (22.8%).
  • UNICEF's response remains critically underfunded with a gap of 22.5 million against the required 24M USD.
