The Logistics Cluster is responsible for logistics Coordination and Information Management; where there is a gap in logistics infrastructure, WFP, as the lead agency of the Logistics Cluster, acts as a ‘provider of last resort’ by offering Common Logistics Services to support the humanitarian community in their response operations.

Highlights of the Operation

  • In January, the Logistics Cluster facilitated air transport of 330 mt of life saving cargo to 24 destinations on behalf of 23 organisations.

  • On behalf of the humanitarian community, the Logistics Cluster supported rapid response missions to Kandak, Kotdalok and Udier, by facilitating the movement of 13 mt of Education, Health, Nutrition and WASH cargo.

  • The Logistics Cluster coordinated humanitarian convoys to Ajuong Thok, Aweil, Bentiu, Ikotos, Kapoeta, Rumbek, Torit and Wau on behalf of ACTED, INTERSOS, IOM, IRC, UNICEF, UNOPS, VSF-Suisse, WHO and World Relief.
