Key highlights
Enhancing Health Access and Strengthening Responsiveness:
• From January to November 2024, 5 million outpatient consultations were provided for essential health services. • During this period, skilled birth attendants supported about 51,000 normal deliveries.
Preventing, Detecting and Responding to Epidemic Prone Disease Outbreaks:
• As of end of December 2024, there was a cumulative total of 13,858 cases, with 203 deaths (case fatality ratio of 1.5%, exceeding the target of <1%). Rubkona County accounted for the highest number of cases (53.4%), followed by Juba County (11.4%).
• Malaria cases exceeded the national epidemic threshold, with 46,240 cases and 17 deaths reported in week 52 of 2024. Malaria accounted for 35% of outpatient consultations.
• The third round of the novel oral polio vaccine (nOPV2) campaign achieved 99% administrative coverage, vaccinating 3.27 million children under fi ve years across 79 counties.
Providing Quality Essential Clinical Health Services:
• Between January and November 2024, stabilization centers treated over 10,000 children suff ering from severe acute malnutrition with complications.
• During the same period, around 252 survivors of sexual and gender-based violence received clinical management services for rape.
Improving Resilience- Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MPHSS):
• Since January 2024, approximately 8,200 individuals in confl ict-aff ected areas received mental health and psychosocial support services.
