Key highlights

Enhancing Health Access and Strengthening Responsiveness:

  • From January to July 2024, 3 million outpatient consultations were provided for essential health services.

  • During this period, skilled birth attendants supported over 35,000 normal deliveries.

Preventing, Detecting and Responding to Epidemic Prone Disease Outbreaks:

  • Nine new suspected anthrax cases were reported in Week 34, bringing the total to 142 cases and 3 deaths, with 569 animal deaths also recorded.

  • Ongoing cVDPV2 outbreak has led to 24 virus isolates since December 2023, with three distinct lineages circulating, prompting two additional vaccination rounds after November 2024.

  • Flooding has aff ected 710,000 people, displaced 15,000, submerged 24 health facilities, and led to 2 deaths and 18 snake bites.

  • IDSR reporting in Week 34 saw improvements with timeliness at 62% and completeness at 86%, However reporting in some states remained low.

Providing Quality Essential Clinical Health Services:

  • Between January and July 2024, stabilization centers treated 2,211 children suff ering from severe acute malnutrition with complications.

  • During the same period, around 144 survivors of sexual and gender-based violence received clinical management services for rape.

Improving Resilience- Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MPHSS):

  • Since January 2024, approximately 6,570 individuals in conflict-affected areas received mental health and psychosocial support services.
