Key highlights

Enhancing Health Access and Strengthening Responsiveness:

• In January 2024, 449 359 outpatient consultations were conducted for essential health services.

• During the same period, skilled birth attendants assisted over 5 471 normal deliveries.

Preventing, Detecting and Responding to Epidemic Prone Disease Outbreaks:

• As of 25 February 2024, cumulatively total of 78 Yellow Fever cases (75 suspected and 03 confirmed) were reported from six counties in Western Equatoria state.

• Thirteen suspected meningitis cases were reported in two counties in Jonglei State and ten in Twic County in Warrap State.

• Three suspected Polio Virus Type 2 (PV2) cases were identified in Yambio, Juba, and Luakpiny/Nasir counties. A public health emergency was declared for cVDPV2 by the MOH on December 22, 2023.

Providing Quality Essential Clinical Health Services:

• In January 2024, stabilization centers have treated 49 children with severe acute malnutrition and complications.

• During the same period, around 13 survivors of sexual and gender-based violence received clinical management of rape services.

Improving Resilience- Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MPHSS):

• About 2488 people in confl ict aff ected areas received MPHSS services in January 2024.
