Following the signing of the Revitalized Agreement for Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) in September 2018, Western Bahr el Ghazal has witnessed a reduction in hostilities and there has been a noticeable trend of people leaving these sites.

IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix conducted a perception survey to assess the displacement patterns, needs and intentions of the displaced population, as part of the Roadmap to Displacement Solutions in Western Bahr el Ghazal (WBeG). This report presents a summary of the preliminary findings of the survey conducted between 25th March and 1st April 2023, in two locations: Naivasha IDP Camp and Masna Collective Site. The findings presented are based on 248 interviews with IDP households.

In May 2023, DTM’s biometric registration and verification system identified 6,981 individuals (1,727 households) in Naivasha IDP camp and 3,055 individuals (736 households) in Masna Collective Site. Both sites were established following conflict in Western Bahr el Ghazal State, which led to an influx of IDPs into Wau Town.
