Highlights

  • An estimated 723,900 people are displaced inside South Sudan. Another 145,000 people have fled to nearby countries, with the largest increase of arrivals in Ethiopia.

  • Inter-agency assessments to Rom and Paloich in Upper Nile State found new small pockets of displacement, with many people in transit heading further north.

  • The health situation in the UN Tomping base in Juba improved, with mortality rates dropping to below emergency levels.

  • So far, over 300,000 people have received some assistance in 50 locations. Unity State remained the most challenging area for the response, due to ongoing insecurity.
